Page created 25/2/20, updated 12/3/21 to start to catch up with exciting developments with CORE in Finland.
The translation of the YP-CORE into Finnish was led by Dr. Vera Gergov assisted by Mikko Inkinen, Anni Saarela, Jannina Mäkynen, Jarmo Kontunen, Sanna Selinummi, Niina Saikkonen, Sara Knuuti, Aino Kuivila and Akseli Ottelin (with a bit of input from me, Chris Evans!) We published a paper showing reassuring results from an initial psychometric exploration of the measure but there is certainly scope for more work exploring it, particularly check for gender and age cohort differences in psychometrics (as found in the UK, see the YP-CORE page) and establishing good referential distributions for Finland. The first paper is:
Gergov, V., Lahti, J., Marttunen, M., Lipsanen, J., Evans, C., Ranta, K., … Lindberg, N. (2017). Psychometric properties of the Finnish version of the Young Person’s Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation (YP-CORE) questionnaire. Nordic Journal of Psychiatry, 71(4), 250–255. https://doi.org/10.1080/08039488.2016.1270352.
For a period Dr. Gergov had no time really to continue the work on the YP-CORE. However, she is now (Q1 2021) in a different position and has some limited time again to work on the YP-CORE and we are very keen to find people, who would be interested to join us and do research on the Finnish measure. We are also very aware that we don’t have a Swedish translation of the YP-CORE (though we do have a good one of the CORE-OM). Do contact me if you could help with either or both of these challenges, or if you’d like a copy of our paper.
Depending on your web browser, clicking on that will either open it, in which case you should be able to save it from there, or will offer to download it for you (or it may just download it to its default download location). Downloading means you accept the licence on the measure, see copyright and licensing information.
