Update for April, May and June 2022
Oh dear, three for the price of one. At least I am keeping to my vow not to send more than one Email a month. It’s been a mad few months for me but that’s not for here!
- General CORE issues
* The UDLA based systematic review, covering peer-reviewed papers in English, Spanish and Portuguese published before the end of 2021 is in coding and inter-rater checking.
* As well as that work, reviewing to the end of 2021, it’s nice to see peer-reviewed papers using some of the CORE system in all sorts of ways and in many countries continue to turn up pretty much every week. We are working on getting a preliminary index on the site to replace the very out of date one we have currently.
- Translations
* The Portuguese subsite is live: huge thanks to Murilo Zibetti.
* Our paper about the translation of the YP-CORE into Arabic, Yassin & Evans 2021, is out in the bound issue of the journal (Yassin, S., & Evans, C. (2021). A journey to improve Arabic‐speaking young peoples’ access to psychological assessment tools: It’s not just Google translate! Counselling and Psychotherapy Research, 22(2), 396–405. https://doi.org/10.1002/capr.12431). Always nice to know something is thumping through people’s letterboxes. Contact me if you want an electronic copy.
- Web site
* Automatic translations of pages on the main site continue to grow. We continue to be very keen to have first language speakers correct errors in those translations. Contact me if you might help with that.
* The subsites in Brasilian/Portuguese and Finnish are active and Italian is gearing up.
* A single page with zip files containing multiple printable PDFs now has the basic zip files and work on this will start to move towards ensuring that all available PDFs can be downloaded easily.
* I continue to get a steady flow of questions about CORE things and help people comply with the creative commons licence (see here) to get instruments into online systems and apps (without licence fees).
* We have created pages on which to list services using CORE instruments and for applications using them. Contact me if you want your service of system added there.
- Tangential
* Jo-anne and I did a presentation about the OMbook at the BACP research meeting.
Onwards!
